Jacob is 6 years old. He is a rescue from a local Police Dept. Jacob is a prime example of a dog that should never be bred due to natural human aggression. It is the responsibility of the owners to make sure the proper measures are followed when owning one of these type animals.

  Your dogs are like human children. When not supervised the decisions they make are often not in their best interests.  When a lab runs up to a person they say, how sweet.  When a Pit Bull does the same thing they say, VICIOUS DOG. The public will not wait before calling animal control or police. Pit Bulls do not have the same rights as other breeds because of their bad reputation and more times than not will be killed. This is the unfortunate truth. So lets not make their reputation worse than it is. For the best interest of your dog, the public and yourself keep your dog contained.                            

If you have voice control you cannot predict the reaction to a dog, a cat or even a person trying to control their child.  Having your dog on a leash, you always have control.  You will be viewed as a responsible owner under these conditions.

Exercise is a must. Pit Bulls are very hyper animals and need exercise in their daily routine. If you work like most people do and your dog is home alone, going on a walk will help him and you both. A well conditioned dog with a regular exercise plan, will help expel his daily energy that we all encounter in everyday life. This will help him and you as well in training and learning of your commands.

This breed was initially created and developed for the sport of dog fighting. As a result of this, Pit Bulls became very dog-aggessive. Be smart and use common sense. Your dog may be friendly, but it only takes one time. Be prepared for what can happen at any time. Training may curve this behavior but you will never get rid of it. Understanding Pit Bulls history will help you understand and control your dog. Socializing at a young age with people and their animals will help as they get older.

Pit Bulls are pack animals like the wolf. If you let them be the boss they will run the house and everyone in it. They are a dog and need to understand their place in your family's life. Pit Bulls are very smart animals and will follow your direction and your lead, so be the leader, not a follower. There is always a chain of command and your dog has to understand their place in the chain.
